Audio-Technica is now offering new shock mounts, available in black (AT8449a, pictured here) and silver (AT8449a/SV), for use with select 40 Series side-address microphones. Available now, the new shock mount features improved rubber band architecture for long-lasting operation, and a robust cradle design for easy microphone insertion and a secure, molded fit that hugs the body of the microphone. The new shock mounts are colored to match select 40 Series microphones: The black AT8449a shock mount is included with AT4033a, AT4040, AT4050 and AT4050ST; the silver AT8449a/SV is included with AT4047/SV, AT4047MP and AT4080.

St. Louis’ Delmar Hall Gets Big-Venue Sound with Logic Systems-Supplied VUE System

ST. LOUIS, MO – Logic Systems designed a VUE Audiotechnik sound system for the new, 10,000 square foot rock performance venue, Delmar Hall, in St. Louis’s Delmar Loop district. Delmar Hall FOH engineer, Tiffany Hendren, lauded the new setup, which includes a hybrid array of VUE al-8s and al-4s, along with as-418 quad 18-inch isobaric subwoofers for low frequency support. VUEDrive System Engines provide all power and processing for the arrays and subs.

In Memoriam: Nate Hall, 36

SAN DIEGO – Nathaniel (Nate) Hall, manager of design for Nautilus Entertainment Design, died unexpectedly July 17, 2017. He was 36. Hall came to the company after spending 15 years in the contracting and live entertainment fields. At Nautilus, he worked on cruise ship projects for Seabourn, Costa Asia, and Carnival, a theatre consultation for St. Augustine’s High School, and most recently, the Harry Potter Nighttime Lights show at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Linkin Park Cancels North American Tour

LOS ANGELES – Live Nation announced that Linkin Park’s North American tour in support of the band’s 2017 album release, One More Light, has been canceled. Frontman Chester Bennington, 41, was found dead July 20, one week before the North American tour was due to launch at the Xfinity Center near Boston, MA. The North American tour leg was to start in Boston July 27 and wrap up in Los Angeles on Oct. 22.

RCF FiRPHASE Introduces a New Approach on Linearity for Loudspeakers

Moving into their “next generation” of loudspeaker technology, RCF has introduced FiRPHASE technology in the DSP processing providing more transparency, clarity and linearity into new speaker products. The first products to receive the new DSP include the HDL6-A and HDL50-A line array systems, TT45-CXA monitor, RCF ART 3 Series, ART 7 Series and HD Series two-way composite speaker cabinets. Other RCF products with proprietary RDNet control software will be able to be upgraded through firmware updates.

Whirlwind ROK1 and ROK2

Whirlwind’s ROK (Remote Outlet Kontroller) units, including the ROK1 and ROK2, are UL-listed devices that conveniently turn power on and off for remotely located equipment that consumes power even while not in use. They’re ideal for controlling AC power to projectors, video displays, powered loudspeakers, lighting fixtures, etc. ROK1 switches are used for single-phase 120 VAC, and ROK2 is used for switching single-phase 240 VAC, or two legs of 208 VAC three-phase. Both devices are rated for switching 20-amp AC branch circuits. The ROK1 and ROK2 are UL listed as Industrial Control Switches, ANSI/UL 508 and CSA C22.2 No. 14-13 standards for the direct control of nonmotor-rated loads.
