Harman Provides Sound For Kopparberg Urban Forest Festival

LONDON  – The Kopparberg Urban Forest Festival will feature a complete sound reinforcement system composed of Harman AKG microphones, Crown amplifiers, JBL loudspeakers and Soundcraft mixing consoles. The main PA features eight JBL VTX V20 loudspeakers, four S25 subwoofers, complemented by two VTX F15s plus VTX F12, VTX F18S and STX812M stage monitors. The system is powered with two Crown VRack 4×3500 HD systems and an I-Tech 5000 HD amplifier.

Yamaha CL V2.0 Software Update

The latest software update for Yamaha CL Series Digital Audio Consoles incudes mix-minus capabilities for the broadcast market and discovery and head amp control for the QL Series that also inherits CL Series features and performance. A QL console can function as both monitor mixer and I/O rack, for example, while a front-of-house CL console can remotely control the head amp gain of the QL console’s I/O.

Thunder Audio Expands its L-Acoustics Inventory

LIVONIA, MI — Thunder Audio, Inc., based here, recently expanded its inventory with a large-format K1 system and other gear from L-Acoustics. Thunder Audio is currently taking delivery of 48 K1 enclosures. The rental company’s other L-Acoustics components now also include 36 K2 and 24 KARA elements, 18 K1-SB and 34 SB28 subs, and six ARCS II and 22 LA-RAK, each loaded with three LA8 amplified controllers. University Christian Church in Fort Worth, TX Equipped with Tannoy Loudspeakers

FORT WORTH, TX – University Christian Church (UCC), located on the campus of Texas Christian University here, recently upgraded with Tannoy column line array loudspeakers. The new installation uses a Tannoy QFlex 48 column line array and a Tannoy VLS 15 loudspeaker. Curt Taipale, owner of Taipale Media Systems (TMS), headquartered in Allen, TX, designed the system. He worked closely with SAV, a Plano, TX-based system integration company that handled the installation.

Columbia Performing Arts Centre Opts for Ashly’s nX-Series Amps

COLUMBIA, MO – As part of a major addition including four new studios, The Columbia Performing Arts Centre added a sound system centered on the Ashly nXp8002 two-channel Network Amplifier. “Of course the built-in DSP is one of the first features that drew us to the nXp line, we needed smooth compression and limiting to protect the system as well as a good EQ to fine tune the speaker response to each space. The fail-over functionality was huge, as was the unit’s super low power consumption at idle. That kind of intelligent power management is great in a situation like this,” said said Chris Howe, manager at Sound Concepts Inc.

Harman Provides Sound for An Ode to the Blues Festival

BANGALORE, India — Harman provided a complete live sound system and Martin lighting for the An Ode to the Blues festival in Bangalore, India. Two stages were equipped with a variety of JBL loudspeakers including four VRX 900 Series loudspeakers, two STX828 dual-18-inch subwoofers, two PRX615M powered loudspeakers and two STX815M loudspeakers. The loudspeakers were powered by Crown VRACK complete, self-contained amplifier systems, which include I-Tech HD Series power amps, analog and digital connections and a globally universal power distribution system, all housed in wheeled rack with a suspension system that enables VRACK to be flown if desired.

GC Pro Helps Faith Church’s Services Work Out in Reverberant Gym Location

HAMMOND, IN — Faith Church has been adding a number of “satellite” locations since it was originally founded in South Holland, IL in 1963. There are now six locations, four in buildings that the church owns and two in rented locations. For a recent move to a larger rented space in Hammond, IN — the Hammond Academy of Science and Technology’s gym, which Faith Church is using for Sunday services — church leaders turned to GC Pro for an assist in quickly convert the reverberant gym into a highly intelligible worship location.
