Adlib Supplies Gear for 2014 Summertime Ball at Wembley Stadium

LONDON – Adlib supplied audio crew and equipment for Capital FM’s Summertime Ball event, staged at Wembley Stadium here June 21. System Engineer Tony Szabo designed an L-Acoustics K1 / K2 PA system to complement the new stage design. Adlib also provided DiGiCo consoles at both ends of the multicore. The lineup of artists included David Guetta, Ellie Goulding, Miley Cyrus, Enrique Iglesias, Pharrell Williams, Calvin Harris, 5 Seconds of Summer and numerous others.

Maryland Church Gains Intelligibility with Community Gear

FREDERICK, MD – Seeking to increase voice intelligibility, St. John the Evangelist Church upgraded to Community’s ENTASYS column line-source loudspeaker system. The new system has an ENTASYS ENT-FR full-range column and an ENT-LF low-frequency column on each side of the chancel tilted slightly downwards to avoid rear-wall echoes. The left and right transepts and the rear of the church are covered by ENT206s, and a pair of ENT203s provides coverage for the balcony and choir loft.

SOMERVILLE, MA – A recent upgrade of the sound system at Johnny D’s nightclub and restaurant here included Harman Crown amplifiers, BSS signal processors, and a Soundcraft Si Expression 3 console. “The Si Expression 3 is perfect as an upgrade, because it helps people transition to digital due to its logical layout and ease of use,” said technical manager Dana Westover. “For example, we had a guest engineer who has never worked on a Soundcraft board before, and within 15 minutes, he was ready for the show.”

RCF Supports Special Olympics USA Olympic Town Stage

EWING TOWNSHIP, NJ – RCF partnered with Reid Sound to provide the sound system for the Olympic Town Entertainment Stage at  the Special Olympics USA Games. The system included 4 dB Technologies DVA-T8 three-way active line array boxes ground stacked on top of 2 DVA-S10DP 18” active subwoofers per side, with RCF TT25-A 15” active two-way cabinets used as stage monitors and NX15-SMA 15” active speakers as fills. Additional satellite sound was provided with RCF HD10-A 10” active two-way cabinets.

Pope Francis’ Plain of Sibari Mass Reinforced with Outline Loudspeakers

CALABRIA, Italy – Outline Butterfly and Mantas loudspeaker systems amplified the voice of Pope Francis on the occasion of the Holy Mass celebrated on the Plain of Sibari here before an estimated 250,000 worshippers June 21. The rig included 56 Butterfly modules, 24 Mantas modules and 24 Subtech 218 for low-end reinforcement. In the vicinity of the Papal chair, two Outline DVS 8, two stage monitor H.A.R.D. 212 and two H.A.R.D. 115 speakers were installed. The choir had other H.A.R.D. 212 monitors at its disposal, while Tripla, Doppia and DVS 10 enclosures covered other areas of the stage. Dee Jay Service from Rende (Cosenza) provided the gear.

Oregon Shakespeare Festival Using Meyer Sound MINA Loudspeakers

ASHLAND, OR – The Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s first full reinforcement setup in its Allen Elizabethan Theatre centers on Meyer Sound MINA line array loudspeakers. The system uses split center arrays of MINA loudspeakers, with two arrays of seven covering the orchestra and two of five covering the balcony. Outer left and right clusters of two-each UPQ-1P and UPQ-2P loudspeakers per side add stereo dimension for music and effects, while four 500-HP subwoofers supply musical low end and convincing effects—such as the giant’s footsteps heard in the production of Into the Woods.
