Audio-Technica Supports Mothersbaugh: Myopia Exhibit

AKRON, OH — Audio-Technica is sponsoring Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia, the first comprehensive retrospective of the Akron, OH native’s work, at the Akron Art Museum May 27 through Aug. 28, 2016. Mothersbaugh is one of the founding members of the rock group DEVO, as well as composer for TV shows and movies. Myopia is a career-spanning traveling exhibition of Mothersbaugh’s creative output and includes works on paper, sculptures, installations, music and videos, spanning his years as a founder of DEVO to his ongoing present-day work as a visual artist and composer. Audio-Technica also supplied audio products for the exhibit’s listening stations.

Martin Audio MLA Upgrades Japan’s Hakataza Theater

HAKATA CITY, Japan – The Hakataza Theater in the Fukuoka Prefecture—one of the most famous musical theaters in Japan—has been renovated after 16 years to meet complex acoustical demands for events such as kabuki, musicals and theatrical shows. Several premium systems were tested over a nearly five-year period before Martin Audio’s MLA family was given approval. The sound engineer, Mr. Noguchi from Music Reserve inc., said, “Our top priority is delivering perfect sound to the entire audience. In the Hakataza Theater, we have to cater for many kinds of programs and in the past we have experienced shortcomings in the sound with some productions and presentations. The MLA family has overcome that and given me an innovative way to deliver consistent sound throughout the auditorium.”

RIO RANCHO, NM —  Lectrosonics is mourning the loss of John Arasim, former president of the company and chairman of the board. Arasim died on May 30 with his family at his side. He was 91.
