Honor Society Overachieves with Sennheiser Wireless

MIDLAND PARK, NJ — Performing three or even four times a day to promote their debut album, Fashionably Late, released on the Jonas Brothers’ label through Hollywood Records, Honor Society might just be one of the hardest-working bands in show business.

AUSTIN, TX — The Austin City Limits Music Festival featured 130 bands on eight stages in three days of performances. Robert Ausmus of LD Systems (Houston, TX) and his crew relied on an Electro-Voice X-Line line array loudspeaker system to provide sound reinforcement for the Xbox 360 stage.

POMONA, CA — The 2,000-capacity Fox Theater Pomona reopened earlier this year after 10 years of disuse. The two-year, $10 million restoration project included a new L-Acoustics KUDO rig designed and installed by Rat Sound Systems.

ROCHESTER, NY — At the Rochester School for The Deaf, Bag End S18E-C subwoofers placed face-down on a vibrating floor help deaf and hard of hearing children “hear” music by letting them feel the vibration of the sound through the floor.

NEW ORLEANS — The flooding of Hurricane Katrina closed some of the New Orleans’ biggest theaters, including the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts. But the venue has since reopened with a new Meyer Sound M’elodie line array loudspeaker system.

NEW YORK —  The set designs and clever costumes are part of the appeal of Shrek The Musical, which opened on Broadway in Dec. 2008. But another innovative feature is something that can’t be seen by the audience —Sennheiser MKE 1 microphones worn by the cast on stage.

MARIETTA, GA —Founded in 1998, St. Peter Chanel has grown from just six families to a membership with 2,500 families and a new church completed in 2008. While the church has been designed with traditional neo-Gothic architectural details, the audio system is contemporary, using Renkus-Heinz Iconyx Digitally Steerable Array loudspeakers. 

MEMPHIS, TN — Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium (LBMS), built in 1965 and renovated in 1987, was overdue for an upgrade for sound system components that had been exposed to the elements since 1981. The budget still hasn’t allowed for a comprehensive sound system upgrade, but contractors were able to add 12 weatherproof Danley TH-115 subwoofers.

INDIO, CA — After a five-year hiatus, Phish reformed earlier this year for the release of Joy and a subsequent 27-date national tour, which included headline spots at the Bonnaroo Music Festival and a four-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Denver.
