Suspect in Police Chase Plows Into SXSW Crowd; Three Killed, 22 Injured

AUSTIN — A 21-year-old suspect evading a DUI checkpoint led police on a high-speed chase that ended when the Honda Civic he was driving crashed barricades set up for the South by Southwest (SXSW) festival near the Mohawk club at Red River Street and 10th Street in Austin. Dozens of bystanders were hit by the speeding vehicle, which also narrowly missed a police car and officer. Three died.

Firmware v2.60 or higher for NTi Audio’s XL2 handheld analyzer allows the spectral analysis of audio signals in dBu, dBV and volts. A new Spectral Limits Option extends the analyzer to 1/12-octave resolution, while the XL2 Remote Measurement Option lets users integrate XL2 monitoring/control into PC-automated test sequences. Frequency spectrum analysis in dBu , dBV or volts is available with the standard XL2 instrument in octave, third-octave and linear FFT resolutions and the unit automatically switches to dBSPL for sound level metering when an NTi measurement mic is connected. All measurements can be stored as ASCII data for later analysis with spreadsheet programs on Mac or PC.

JBL Professional’s PD6000 Series is designed for mid to large venues requiring precise pattern control and high output — either individually or in arrays. The series consists of 14 models, with four 3-way full-range systems, four 12-inch 2-way’s, four 2-way mid-high systems and two LF models. Coverage includes the original 40 x 30, 60 x 40 and 90 x 50 and a new 60 x 60 system, and are rotatable for horizontal or vertical use.
