WASHINGTON, DC – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce honored Tempe, AZ-based Precise Corporate Staging (PCS) with the Blue Ribbon Small Business Award for a second consecutive year. The award was presented at the 10th annual America’s Small Business Summit, held here June 11-13. It was the second consecutive year for PCS to be recognized with the honor, which recognized PCS’ charitable efforts. The company has donated $2.5 million in time, equipment and money since its inception in 2000.

USITT Accepting Nominations for 2015 Awards

USITT is accepting nominations for their Distinguished Achievement Awards and Special Achievement Awards from June 1-July 1. The Distinguished Achievement Awards honor “people whose careers have greatly contributed to a specific field of entertainment design or technology.” Details on the five Special Achievement Awards, which are not necessarily awarded annually, are below. USITT Decries Loss of Sound Awards from Tony Honors

Deep Thrust Stage at Chicago Shakespeare Theater Equipped with Meyer Sound M1D

Designed to meet specific architectural challenges, the system is comprised of a center cluster of eight M1D loudspeakers that covers the main center section of the house in three zones, while side arrays of five M1D loudspeakers each are arranged in three zones to manage the extreme vertical coverage.

Martin Audio MLA Compact Takes Control At Sun Valley Community Church

TEMPE, AZ – The Tempe campus of Sun Valley Community Church recently installed a Martin Audio MLA Compact loudspeaker system as a key component in a significant upgrade of its technical capabilities. The system consists of nine MLA Compact enclosures per side in left-right hangs with seven Martin Audio DSX subs in bunkers arranged in arc formation along the downstage edge. Two WT3 speakers for extreme left and right outfill and six DD6 speakers for front fill complete the system with Martin Audio MA3.0 and MA2.8Q amplifiers and a Merlin Processor that manages the outfills and front fills, as well as communications between the speakers. The rest of the setup currently includes a Soundcraft MH2 40-channel Desk at FOH Sennheiser Evolution Series wireless and DPA microphones.

Bell Events Selects VUE Audiotechnik Line Arrays for Fiesta Hermosa Festival

SAN DIEGO – Bell Events Services supplied both al-4 and al-8 line array systems from VUE Audiotechnik for this year’s Fiesta Hermosa Arts & Crafts Festival in Hermosa Beach. The Charity Beer & Wine Garden stage featured dual al-4 arrays consisting of four elements per side stacked atop dual VUE hs-28 powered subwoofers. Power and processing for the al-4 arrays came courtesy of a single VUE V4 Systems Engine. A selection of VUE a-Class two-way systems served monitor duty, while an APB Dynasonics Spectra console handled the mix. At the main stage, the Bell Events team flew dual al-8 arrays of four elements each. Four VUE as-418 quad 18-inch subwoofers filled out the low end, while four VUE V6 Systems Engines handled all power and processing for the arrays and subs. A selection of VUE a-Class systems served as monitors, with VUE h-12 systems as front fill and an Allen & Heath iLive console at the FOH position.
