Read More »South Korea’s National Gugak Center Upgrades Meyer Sound System with M’elodie
SEOUL — The National Gugak Center has added M’elodie line array loudspeakers to upgrade the decade-old Meyer Sound system in its 800-seat Yeak-Dang Theatre. Renowned for its role in preserving and promoting ancient Korean musical traditions, the Center continues to count on the durability and reliability of its UPM-1P, CQ-1, and CQ-2 loudspeakers, which were reconfigured for the upgraded system. The new system includes left and right arrays of 12 M’elodie loudspeakers each and four 600-HP subwoofers.

NEW YORK — Let’s be blunt. In past years, the conventions of the Audio Engineering Society have strayed away from the live community. In fact, at the 2012 convention, only one manufacturer of sound reinforcement speakers exhibited product on the show floor — and that was a small, 10 x 10-foot booth featuring ceiling speakers, which hardly reflected the growth and vitality that the live audio community has experienced over the past decade. Cognizant of that fact, this time around the AES put a full court press, reaching out to the sound reinforcement community, repeating the popular Live Audio Expo with seminars available free to all attendees, and encouraging more live sound companies to the exhibit floor.

BUENA PARK, CA — Yamaha says the Yamaha Rivage PM10 Digital Audio Console, first previewed in the U.S. at InfoComm in June, has been making the rounds prior to its official launch.
