LINCOLN, NE — Radio Active Designs (RAD) named Richard Stockton sales engineer for the growing organization. As sales engineer for RAD, Stockton will be responsible for providing demonstrations and technical support for the UV-1G wireless intercom system, RAD’s flagship product. LOS ANGELES — British metal band Iron Maiden is relying on a Meyer Sound LEO Family loudspeaker system to power its “Book of Souls World Tour.” The band’s performances have been filling arenas around the world since the six-month, 35-country tour began in February. FOH engineer Martin Walker chose LEO speakers for power and clarity for Iron Maiden after mixing Judas Priest’s 2014-2015 world tour on the system.

NEW YORK – For a month-long residency at the United Palace Theatre in New York’s Washington Heights, Audio Spectrum deployed an L-Acoustics system consisting of three K1-SB subs flown over 10 K2 enclosures per side, supplemented by SB28 subs ground-stacked below, plus X8 coaxials as frontfills and ARCS II enclosures as outfills. The speaker setup managed to rise above the cheers of the Bachata-focused band’s enthusiastic fan base.

Green Day’s ‘American Idiot’ Staged in Sweden, with dLive Managing the Mix

STOCKHOLM, Sweden — For a two-month run of Green Day’s stage show, American Idiot, at Cirkus Theatre, Parashoot PA managed the audio mix using Allen & Heath’s dLive digital mixing systems. The setup included a S7000 Control Surface and DM64 MixRack at both FOH and monitors. Parashoot also supplied an ME system for personal monitors from its rental inventory.

Sound Designer for Broadway’s ‘Fiddler on the Roof’ Uses d&b ArrayProcessing for Even Coverage

NEW YORK — For Broadway’s Fiddler on the Roof, the audio system supplied and installed by Sound Associates includes d&b audiotechnik V7P point source loudspeakers for those in the ground-floor orchestra section and two rings of E6 for delays under the deeper parts of the large balcony and E4s for lip fills. Working with longtime design assistant/collaborator Alex Neumann and d&b’s Adair Mallory, sound designer Scott Lehrer made use of d&b’s ArrayProcessing to allow for even audio coverage for every seat in the theater.
