EDINBURGH, Scotland — The Warehouse Sound Services has been named the U.K. dealer for loudspeaker brand Adamson Systems Engineering. The Warehouse currently has offices in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Scotland. To further support Adamson in northern England, The Warehouse is opening a third branch in Chorley, Lancashire, U.K. It will be led by Craig Buckley and Paul Atherton.

LOUISVILLE, KY — Hardy Martin, co-founder of Innovative Electronic Designs (IED), died May 1 at his home in Louisville, KY. He was 79. Martin and longtime associates Ray Allen and Robert Ponto established IED in 1978, initially to develop an automatic microphone mixer for JBL. From there, Martin and others at IED developed many firsts in the realm of digital audio processing.

LONDON — DPA microphones played a key role in delivering optimum sound quality to the Comhaltas National Folk Orchestra of Ireland, which made its London debut over Easter with a special concert at the Barbican. DPA’s d:vote Instrument Microphones were used to amplify various instruments, including the harps that are central to the orchestra’s sound.
