Many artists are imbued with an intangible quality that makes them compelling to an audience or a viewer. For that matter, many politicians, athletes and business people maintain an intangible aura that often defines their careers as well and — while they may be analyzed, criticized and ostracized for all their quirks and idiosyncrasies — they still preserve a quality that makes them persuasive and successful in their chosen profession. If we examine the strengths and weaknesses of athletes such as Muhammad Ali, Mariano Rivera and Derek Jeter, we can come up with very definitive reasons for their success, but while their records might be exemplary, there is still an unlabeled intangible quality that propelled each of them to notoriety, fame and greatness.

ALLEROED, DENMARK – Danish band Lukas Graham is using DPA’s new d:facto Linear Vocal Microphone – along with a range of DPA microphones – during its current European tour. The band’s production manager and FOH sound engineer Frank Frank Grønbæk says,“The difference was immediately apparent – the original d:facto was good, but this capsule was much better at handling high end frequencies and gives us absolutely no issues with feedback.”

Winly Joins Adamson Network

TAIPEI, Taiwan – Sound company Winly Production Services Int’l Corp. has taken delivery of an Adamson E-series PA, making them the first Taiwanese company to join the Adamson network. Initially the rental company added 24 E12 line array modules and 16 E219 subwoofers, powered by Adamson E-Racks loaded with Lab.gruppen PLM20k44 amplifiers. By September, they will have added E15, S10 and E119 cabinets.
