MT PLEASANT, PA — AV integration firm Good Sounds of New Stanton, PA, designed and deployed Pennsville Baptist Church’s new sound system, choosing WorxAudio’s X5i-P line array system. “The project has been a huge success,” says Dwight Brown, Good Sounds’ owner/principal system designer. “The speakers that we replaced were just not right for the room and didn’t complement the praise music that was so important to the service. The new WorxAudio system sounds terrific and there isn’t a bad seat in the house.

KETTLE RIVER, MN — Monty Lee Wilkes, a noted FOH engineer, producer and occasional tour manager, died Aug. 26, 2016 in hospice at his parents’ house after a lengthy bout with terminal cancer. He was 54. Wilkes’ work spanned nearly every musical genre, with his resume including credits with The Replacements, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Joe Strummer, Curtiss A, The Suburbs, Soul Asylum, Prince, The Smithereens, Beastie Boys, Britney Spears, The Go Go’s, Engelbert Humperdinck, Soul Asylum, The Suburbs, Babes in Toyland, Lisa Marie Presley, Red Kross, Siouxsie & The Banshees, The B-52’s and the Commodores.

OSLO, Norway — Some 17 members from Oslo’s BI Business School suffered minor injuries when part of the ceiling collapsed at the Sentrum Scene theater on August 21. According to witnesses, sections of the ceiling plaster (approximately a few centimeters in thickness) gradually began falling, first as small bits and then as large sections.

Home of NY Philharmonic in New York’s Lincoln Center Gets Audio Upgrade

NEW YORK — David Geffen Hall in New York’s Lincoln Center, formerly Avery Fisher Hall, is the 2,738-seat home to the New York Philharmonic. The venue recently turned to WorldStage for an audio upgrade. WorldStage audio designer Kate Brown upgraded the system with d&b audiotechnik components including V7P and V10P point source loudspeakers for the main space, E8 loudspeakers for balcony seating and T10 speakers for front fill.

MINNEAPOLIS – The “Kill The Lights” tour with headliner Luke Bryan and tour mates Little Big Town and Dustin Lynch inaugurated the new US Bank Stadium, the NFL’s newest venue and home to the Minnesota Vikings.
