Tattoo Culture Rocks Out with Meyer Sound

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The inaugural Rock the Ink, which spanned three nights at Dunkin’ Donuts Center and Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC), was a celebration of hard rock music and body art culture. Hampstead, N.H.-based Rainbow Production Services brought the MILO and MICA high-power line array loudspeakers from Meyer Sound to support such hard-hitting acts as Godsmack, Killswitch Engage, Bret Michaels and 47 other bands wishing to push the sound level limits. 

HOUSTON — Texas-based tour production specialists LD Systems are currently touring with British superstar soprano Sarah Brightman and their Electro-Voice sound system. Brightman’s Symphony World Tour is currently on its 48-day/32-city North American leg, with stops including Washington DC, Mexico City and Toronto. The show boasts new technology that transforms the stage into a variety of fantasy environments, creating a unique concert experience for the audience.

The d&b audiotechnik E8 is a two-way multipurpose loudspeaker employing an integrated coaxial driver with neodymium magnet assemblies. The 1" exit HF compression driver and constant directivity horn are accommodated within the circumference of the 8" LF driver. It has either a 90° x 50° or 50° x 90° dispersion pattern (h x v), selected by rotating the horn through 90°. 

NASHVILLE — ATK/Audiotek of Valencia, Calif. supplied a multi-array JBL VerTec line array system for the 42nd Annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards. The Awards were held at the Sommet Center in Nashville and broadcast live on ABC to a national audience. The CMA Awards is the premier annual event for the country music industry, and this year’s show was co-hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. Featured performers included Kenny Chesney, Brooks & Dunn, The Eagles, George Strait, Sugarland and Keith Urban, among others.
 

RED HOOK, N.Y. — Concert sound provider Firehouse Productions, known for its tours with Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails and Peter Gabriel among others, chose to deploy L-ACOUSTICS LA8-powered KUDO arrays for FOH on Sigur Ros' recent North American tour leg.

SUN VALLEY, Idaho — With its soaring 70-foot proscenium arch and swooping copper-clad roof, Sun Valley Pavilion heralds a new era for the performing arts at Idaho's premier mountain resort. Winter visitors usually come to ski, but after the snowmelt a full program of performances — notably by the acclaimed Sun Valley Summer Symphony — attracts warm season residents and vacationers who gather at the pavilion for an intimate entertainment experience. Designed by Mary Cook, senior consultant in the Audio & Video Systems Group at JaffeHolden Acoustics, the sound system is anchored by three clusters of five Meyer Sound MILO line array loudspeakers each.
