Signature Audio Partners with the 2009 NYC Peace Project

NEW YORK — Signature Audio is participating in the 2009 NYC Peace Project, a service learning initiative that connects students to each other and the world. The kick-off event is set for April 3 in Central Park, and activists and artists ranging from Yoko Ono, Todd Parr and Matt Watroba are expected to attend.

MEXICO CITY — The Auditorio Nacional, which was named in the top slot in Billboard's Touring Awards in 2007, and topped Pollstar's rankings of theatres and auditoriums by posting total ticket sales of over 995,000, isn’t resting on its laurels. It recently added 60 Meyer Sound MILO line array loudspeakers, giving the venue bragging rights as the largest MILO system owned by any theatre or auditorium.

ROCK HILL, SC — Every two years, Winthrop University’s School of Visual and Performing Arts teams up with the School of Music to produce a musical theatre presentation. This year’s combined effort was the classic Anything Goes, but Biff Edge, Winthrop University’s technical director, was a bit more discriminating when it came to choosing the right upgrade to the sound system.

COCONUT CREEK, FL — With seven locations in south Florida, Bru’s Room is known for its Buffalo wings, big screen sports and friendly environs. Founded by former Miami Dolphins linebacker Bob “Bru” Brudzinski and his partner, Wings ‘N Things founder Eddie Hauk, the company has won accolades for 19 years.

PINOLE, CA — In a retrofit project for a historical parish, Hercules, California-based Pro Media/UltraSound recently upgraded the sound system at St. Joseph’s Church in with JBL Professional VP Series loudspeakers. The church’s structure has been part of Pinole for more than 100 years, became a constituted parish since 1947 and now has more than 10,000 members.

COLUMBUS, OH — Jeff Dunham’s 2009 comedy tour may be called “Spark of Insanity,” but Live! Technologies, which is handling audio, lighting, video and staging for the Comedy Central standout is all about keeping things sane — and audible. SALT LAKE CITY—Housed in a historic church, Salt Lake Acting Company premieres original plays with bold themes. When it came time to buy a new mixing console, in-house sound maven Cynthia L. Kehr Rees chose the Yamaha IM8-32, an analog board with a straightforward layout and feature set.

WACO, TX — Highland Baptist Church’s multi-purpose Life Center has been equipped with a new sound system that includes an Allen & Heath iLive digital mixing system. “It’s not a typical sanctuary,” said Tim Cates, audio-visual director for the church, “it’s a multipurpose facility where we also host concerts and banquets in addition to two full size basketball courts. So we needed something with lots of flexibility and, of course, we had a budget.”
