Lectrosonics Gear Amplifies Heartbeat, Breathing of Buried Artist

MOUNTAINAIR, NM — Land-based artworks are usually installed on the land, but rarely in it. Such was the case, however, for part of a conceptual art performance where, for almost two hours, the amplified sounds of the artist’s heartbeat and breathing were heard in real time throughout the gallery where the performance occurred—using to wireless technology from Lectrosonics.

NAPERVILLE, IL —North Central College was looking to ensure a satisfactory audio experience for both audiences and visiting artists at the Wentz Concert Hall, part of the college’s new Fine Arts Center. Talaske, an acoustic audio, and video design firm based in Oak Park, Ill., used Bag End subwoofers for the project.

PUTNAM, CT —Rational Acoustics LLC recently completed the purchase of the Smaart brand product line from Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW). The purchase, in the works for nine months, leaves Rational Acoustics as the sole owner of the Smaart brand, with title to all names, trademarks, code bases and assets for the complete suite of past, current and future versions of Smaart software.

NEW YORK — Missy Elliot used a crystal stone AKG D 5 wireless microphone for her debut performance on CBS' Late Show with David Letterman recently, singing “Get Involved.” Using her microphone, Elliot performed before a viewing audience of more than three million people without a glitch.

MIAMI — Miranda Lambert, a 2003 finalist on the Nashville Star TV series, has added to her fan base with her third release, Revolution, and is touring with support once more from FOH engineer Jason Macalik and production manager/monitor engineer Chris Newsom. They chose dual DiGiCo SD8 consoles for the tour.

NASHVILLE — Reflecting the preferences of top country artists and music mixers, Audio-Technica and Sennheiser were among the top microphone brands represented at the 43rd Annual Country Music Association (CMA) Awards, with live performances broadcast from Sommet Center on ABC.

NIAGARA, NY — Westbury National Show Systems recently installed a full surround sound system using JBL’s VP series loudspeakers for Niagara’s Fury, a new immersive attraction at the Table Rock complex at Niagara Falls.  Fury is the cornerstone of renovations at Table Rock, a Niagara Falls destination for shopping, dining and entertainment.

WAVERLY, OH — JSL Productions, which recently provided live sound reinforcement for the Christian rock band Fireflight’s recent Hope tour, used their Aero Series 2 sound system from D.A.S. Audio.
