Show Details

Stranger Things: The First Shadow, a prequel to the Netflix series focusing on the character Henry Creel, opened at Broadway’s Marquis Theatre on April 22, and on June 8, sound designer Paul Arditti won a Tony Award for Best Sound Design of a Play. The show had opened last December at the Phoenix Theatre in London, but for the larger, 1,600-capacity Marquis Theatre, Arditti essentially rebuilt the show’s sound design from the ground up. “There are several new special effects and new sounds to go with them,” he said, adding that “with the excellent controlled coverage of the Meyer Sound speakers, there are no bad seats for sound.”
