Event Details
The inaugural American Music Honors were presented April 15 by the Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music. E Street band member and actor Steven Van Zandt was among the honorees, and he performed with his own band, The Disciples of Soul, as did fellow honorees Steve Earle, Darlene Love and Sam Moore of Sam and Dave. Springsteen, Garry Tallent and Southside Johnny Lyon gave speeches and awards, comedian Jon Stewart hosted, and New Jersey governor Phil Murphy attended as well to officially proclaim Sept. 23 as Bruce Springsteen Day in New Jersey (the Boss’ birthday).
