The Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) expo returned to Fira de Barcelona, Gran Via in Barcelona, Spain Feb. 4-7, 2025. With a record number of exhibitors (1,605), the event drew more than 85,000 visitors from 168 countries, a 15.5 percent increase from the previous year.
“ISE 2025 has surpassed all expectations, setting new milestones in both attendance and innovation,” said Mike Blackman, managing director of Integrated Systems Events. “This year’s edition has delivered an unmatched experience.” AVIXA president & CEO David Labuskes and Daryl Friedman, global president & CEO of CEDIA agreed. Event highlights included the new Hall 8.1, the Esports Arena, and robotics and drone areas.
But for FRONT of HOUSE’s readership, of course, the main draw was product innovation in audio gear for live and installed sound. Here are a few of those new audio debuts that caught our attention.
Speakers!
1 Sound (www.1-sound.com), which released their CM38 stage monitor in 2024, unveiled a smaller version called the Monitor M35 at ISE 2025. While extremely compact, measuring 6” high and 20” wide, the Monitor M34 is designed to offer a full range bandwidth, making it well suited for live music performers and keynote presenters.
Audiofocus’ (www.audiofocus.eu) ELIZ 210 compact line array is targeted at rental companies, performance venues and houses of worship. The ELIZ 210 employs V mounted twin 10” Tetracoil Double Voice Coil LF transducers for enhanced low-end performance, precision control, faster impulse response, and improved transient handling. The LF design is complemented by a next-generation 4” titanium diaphragm HF compression driver, selected for its linearity and mid-band clarity. A preliminary SPL figure of 140dB Mtone has been given for the series, with a frequency response of 55Hz – 19kHz. The 90° x 8° dispersion of each ELIZ 210 cabinet can be adjusted to 70° using the M-Flexion system of custom 3-D printed magnetized ABS horn plugs. These horn plugs can be inserted and removed without tools, allowing the same ELIZ system to be quickly tailored to the coverage requirements of different spaces, or to manage reflections from hard surfaces.
Blaze Audio’s (www.blaze-audio.com) BL18S high-power passive subwoofer is specifically crafted to integrate seamlessly with Blaze Audio CBL523 and CBL528 Constant Beamwidth Loudspeakers, providing a complete full-range audio system for small to medium-sized venues that require scalable and versatile low-frequency solutions. Designed primarily for free-standing installations, the BL18S features an 18-inch bass driver in a reflex-loaded enclosure, delivering low-frequency bandwidth down to 31Hz at -10dB, with maximum sound pressure levels reaching 136dB at 1m. Multiple BL18S subwoofers can be installed in arrays and configured via amplifier presets to deliver either omnidirectional or cardioid directivity characteristics, ensuring exceptional sound distribution.
Celestion (www.celestion.com) featured its TSQ2460 24-inch subwoofer with 6” voice coil with new voice coil cooling technology. Features include 98 dB sensitivity and 5000 watts continuous power handling. Along with the TSQ2460, which is being built in the UK, Celestion showcased the company’s excursion loudspeakers, coaxial units, compression drivers and custom waveguides.
d&b audiotechnik’s (www.dbaudio.com) CL-Series cardioid line array speakers are designed for smaller venues and events. These speakers combine broadband directivity control with low frequency cardioid behavior using an innovative new passive design. Equipped with two 7” plus two 5” low frequency drivers, and two 1.75” HF drivers, the lightweight (7.6 kg / 38.8 lb.) arrays are capable of 136 dB max SPL. The CCL8 provides an 80° dispersion and the CCL12 offers 120° dispersion. A dedicated flyable subwoofer available in both installation and mobile versions complements the CCL tops. Using a new patented passive cardioid design, the CCL-Sub features a front 15” and a rear 10” driver configuration. New bass reflex and bandpass ports significantly reduce noise at very high sound pressure levels. The CL-Series can be paired with a range of d&b amplifiers, including the 40D, D40, D80, and D90. These can power up to 8 CCL cabinets or 8 CCL-SUBs or any combination of both to maximum output, without restrictions, under any load conditions.
DAS’ (www.dasaudio.com) MARA cardioid line array, designed for medium to large-scale events, combines a cardioid and symmetrical design with a continuous power of 4200 W RMS, achieving a MAX SPL of 148 dB. Its custom-engineered components include two 10” low-frequency drivers, two 8” midrange drivers and two 6” drivers configured in a cardioid setup. High frequencies are managed by two M-78N compression drivers with 3” voice coils. The system also offers two horizontal coverage options, 80º and 100º, making it adaptable to a wide variety of acoustic environments and event requirements. The cardioid design provides rear attenuation of up to -12 dB in the range of 80 Hz to 200 Hz, enabling precise sound control and minimizing unwanted emissions on stage. MARA’s six-channel Class D amplifier with a switched-mode power supply and Power Factor Correction (PFC), ensures stable and efficient performance under varying voltage conditions.
Electro-Voice’s (www.electrovoice.com) EVOLVE 70 and EVOLVE 90 column loudspeakers are designed to meet pro user demand for lightweight, large format members of the EVOLVE family of portable powered column loudspeakers. They feature 15” and 18” subwoofer options and larger mid/high drivers, large voice coils and subwoofer laminar vent design, promising more output and deeper bass performances. Other features include neodymium column drivers, aluminum distance pole, and lightweight materials throughout along with a design that allows for quick assembly.
JBL’s (www.jblpro.com) SRX900 Series (SRX915SF and SRX918SF) are15-inch and 18-inch flyable subwoofers with built-in amplification and DSP with intuitive control software; simple and fast rigging, along with a full range of supporting accessories. Drawing on flagship JBL Professional technologies, both subwoofers feature dual voice coil, Differential Drive woofers to deliver better heat dissipation, lower power compression and wider dynamic range. A large low-frequency port design improves airflow and reduces audible turbulence while a reinforced 18 mm birch plywood cabinet ensures enhanced strength and durability. Both subwoofers feature the same amplifier module as the existing SRX900 subwoofers.
K-array (www.k-array.com) added the KXT12P and KXT18P to the company’s Dragon Series. Featuring advanced tri-axial technology, they are available in 12” and 18” models and promise an impressive combination of SPLs and clarity, well suited for clubs and sports venues. Other K-array product innovations at ISE 2025 include MKI edition of the KX12, in two versions: the KX12 I and the KX12F I. Also new: the KGEAR GT12, the KSCAPE Rail S system and the Dolomite Series.
L-Acoustics (www.l-acoustics.com) showcased its L Series along with recently launched architectural solutions including the Soka, X4r, SB6r and SB10r. L-Acoustics also hosted its Masters of Sound Experience interview and discussion sessions with theatrical sound designer Cody Spencer, tour sound engineer Xandy Whitesel and festival sound designer Stephen Hughes.
NEXO’s (www.nexo-sa.com) Alpha+ Hybrid Source Sound System is a quick and easy-to-stack three-box system that includes M210 Main, B218 Bass and L20 Sub-bass modules. The M210 is a horn-loaded 2 x 10” with 4 x 3” HF compression drivers, the B218 a horn-loaded 2 x 18” and the L20 a band-pass 1 x 20” taken from the existing P+ Series range. With a comprehensive range of hardware available, stacked and installed systems of various sizes can be configured with Main and Bass modules typically used together in a ratio of 1:1. NEXO’s 4 x 4500 Watts (2 Ohms) NXAMP4X4Mk2 Powered TD Controller provides the perfect amplification and processing platform for the Alpha + Series. A basic stacked system of 1 x M210, 1 x B218 and 2 x L20 left and right requires a single NXAMP4X4Mk2 for each side, with 2-channels for the Main, 1 for the Bass and 1 for both Subs.
Next Audiogroup’s (www.nextaudiogroup.com) SP12 is a high-output, full-range, 3-way point-source system designed for exceptional sound reinforcement in a wide range of applications. The SP12 incorporates dual 12-inch neodymium LF drivers and an advanced coaxial 2-way ring radiator, coupled with an externally rotatable 80° x 45° waveguide. This waveguide combined with the dipolar configuration of the 12-inch drivers ensures controlled directivity down to approximately 500 Hz, maintaining consistent dispersion pattern. This precision-engineered technology guarantees crystal-clear audio reproduction and impressive directional control. The SP12 incorporates an ultra-efficient 3-channel, network-capable Class D amplifier, providing a peak output of 3,840 W along with onboard DSP operating at a 96 kHz sampling rate.
Outline’s (www.outline.it) P Series loudspeakers include six different co-axial design models, ranging from the compact P4 with its 4” mid-woofer to the P30 incorporating double 15” woofers. The P-Series offer electro-acoustic improvements in port technology that significantly reduces airflow turbulence, and time alignment in both passive and bi-amped models. Additionally, the P-series debut new visual traits that complement their integral carrying handles and asymmetrical cabinet sides, with the new Weave- patterned front grille, a new polyurea coating graded to a proprietary off-black tone.
RCF’s (www.rcf.it) SUB 9029-AS is a high-performance dual 19” active subwoofer powered by an 8000W Class-D amplifier delivering up to 142 dB Max SPL, while the smaller single 19” SUB 9019 powered by a 4000W Class-D amplifier delivers up to 1438 dB Max SPL. Designed for rigorous touring both models offer tour-ready, weatherproof cabinets with a durable Polyurea finish and a detachable front cart for easy transport. Precise control using RDNet network management, offers adjustable EQ, delay, cardioid options, along with tailored crossover presets for RCF speakers. Contactless configuration via RDTap enables seamless setup even when the unit is unpowered, ensuring perfect integration every time.
Voice-Acoustic’s (www.voice-acoustic.de) Score 6 passive 2-way system is equipped with two 6,5” transducers in a D’Appolito arrangement and a 1” compression driver coupled to a rotatable CD horn with either 60° x 40°, 90° x 60° or 120° x 40° dispersion. The 120° horn is ideal for listeners who are far away from the main dispersion center. The narrow 40° beam angle in the vertical axis, offers a very good long distance high-frequency response with this horizontally wide-radiating horn. The Score-6 has a 55° and 25° monitor angle, and its low design when positioned horizontally makes it an ideal front stage near-fill. The Score 6 is constructed using sturdy birch plywood: CNC milled, grooved, screwed and waterproof glued. The surface is protected by a stable and moisture-resistant polyurea coating in black. White speakers and special colors with 2K textured paint are available.
Digital Signal Processing
Amadeus Acoustics’ (www.amadeus-acoustics.com) ART Platform is designed for multi-channel/multi-room applications. It’s a software-based system that promises to help venues of all sizes (2 – 256 channels) achieve superior sound control. Its modular and scalable design enables seamless audio management across individual spaces or multiple zones, for any stereo or immersive event or application. Hardware ranges from portable units (ART::Box) to compact and high-capacity, rack-mount servers (ART::Hub 1 and ART::Hub 2), with seamless integration with mixing desks, DAWs and show control platforms.
DAD’s (Digital Audio Denmark, www.digitalaudio.dk) Core 256 Digital router and monitoring Interface offers 848 I/O channels using Thunderbolt 3 (256 Ch.), Dante AoIP (256 Ch.), Madi BNC (64 Ch.) and ADAT dual TosLink I/O (16 Ch.). Supporting sample rates from 44.1 to 384 kHz, the Core 256 is a powerful digital bridge for studio, live and broadcast applications. When used with the Control|Pack firmware upgrade, the system offers native switching between a set of sources to output destinations for fast automated redundancy in playback live processing applications, as well manual switching of routing presets for show control applications when using Thunder | Core products: AX64, AX Center and Core 256.
Fulcrum Acoustic’s (www.fulcrum-acoustic.com) One software Version 1.3 promises enhancements for Object-Based Mixing, Active Bass Control and Loudspeaker Steering. Object-based mixing improvements include support for 2D and 3D speaker arrangements along with new rendering controls, bringing spatial audio systems into loudspeaker layouts for venues of all shapes and sizes. This update brings advanced DSP loudspeaker optimization, including new steering capabilities for Fulcrum Acoustic’s AHS loudspeakers. Designed for high-output, large-scale applications, the AHS series provides precise pattern control and long-throw coverage through modular, digitally steerable arrays. With One Version 1.3, users gain new tools to design, configure, and manage AHS systems in real-time, streamlining setup in challenging environments including stadiums and other large venues.
Linea Research’s (www.linea-research.com) System Engineer 8 software provides easy-to-use DSP and power management with a workflow-based design. SE8 utilizes a graphical workflow that mirrors the natural set up and configuration routine undertaken by a sound engineer, whether for installation or in a live touring environment. System Engineer 8 software communicates all the system device information necessary, to get audio systems up and running in minutes, on one easy-to-read screen while providing the level and accuracy of integrated control that sound engineers require.
XTA Electronics’ (www.xta.co.uk) XTA-DP648 made its European debut. The XTA-DP648 audio management system is the perfect partner for the iconic MX36 console switcher. Retaining the popular 4-input, 8-output format the DP648 features an optional Dante card, allowing for a combination of AES3, analog, and Dante/AES67 IO. Supported by an extensive preset library, the system offers full front panel control and Ethernet remote control via Audiocore Amped Edition. The combination of dynamics processing, IIR, all-pass, and phase filters, paired with very low latency (0.5ms), makes it well suited for system engineers managing live shows, theatres, and clubs.
Amplification and Control
Biamp (www.biamp.com) introduced three new 4800-watt models of its Voltera family of networked amplified loudspeaker controllers (ALCs). The new Voltera ALCs double the available wattage of the previously most powerful Voltera ALCs. This helps meet the needs of mid-size to larger venue spaces, including stadiums, concert halls, event centers and indoor arenas. The Voltera D 4800.4 supplies 4800 watts into four channels, while the Voltera D 4800.2M and Voltera D 4800.4M supply 4800 watts into two or four channels, respectively. Featuring on-board digital signal processing, Voltera ALCs combine amplification and processing into a single cost-effective, networked solution well suited for larger venues. The two new Voltera D models include an integrated TesiraFORTÉ digital signal processor, offering users the same full performance of a standalone DSP, built into the 1 RU chassis, with ample processing for hosting full Tesira-based systems.
Dynacord’s (www.dynacord.com) IX Series includes five models tailored to industry-standard power specifications of 1,500, 3,000 and 6,000 watts across two 8-channel and three 4-channel configurations in a compact 1U form factor. They are designed to support small to mid-sized installation projects such as office spaces, hospitality areas, educational facilities, performance centers, houses of worship, stadia and beyond, accommodating both centralized and decentralized sound system configurations.
Powersoft’s (www.powersoft.com) Nota 142 is an PoE/PoE+ amplifier designed to meet the varied needs of AV system integrators. Nota provides 140W of power across two channels in a pocket-sized footprint, and it can transmit power and data via a single Ethernet connection. It joins other amplifiers targeting the fixed-installation market including Powersoft’s Unica and Mezzo series.
Digital Consoles and Apps
Cadac Consoles’ (www.cadac-consoles.com) CM Monitor App provides performers a personalized iPad on-stage monitoring experience with the CM-J50 console. Designed to complement the existing CM-Remote app, which provides full wireless iPad control of the CM-J50 console, the CM Monitor app promises to serve as an intuitive, performer-focused interface, enabling each performer to adjust their monitor settings directly from their device. This enhanced level of real-time control allows performers to shape their personal sound environment with ease. Able to support an unlimited number of wireless devices connected to a single CM-J50 console, the CM-Monitor App is well suited for large-scale performances, including orchestras and other complex live setups.
DiGiCo’s (www.digico.biz) Quantum 225T Theatre Console is designed with refined hardware and Quantum processing. The Quantum 225T’s functionality and worksurface are instantly reconfigured to provide intuitive theatre programming tools delivering versatility needed for theatre sound design, rehearsal, and show operation. With channel processing and mixing functions identical to its Quantum 225 live sound counterpart, the 225T gains an enhanced matrixing system with individual nodal delays and matrix aliases desired for complex theatre output processing. The Quantum225T is equipped with 96 input channels and 48 busses, as well Mustard and Nodal Processor tallies to 36 and 48, respectively. Mix minus is also included in the new feature set, plus a larger 24×24 matrix. There are four MADI ports and dual DMI ports for added connectivity, 8×8 analog and four AES channels for local I/O, built-in UB MADI, and optional Optocore, plus dual PSU.
Intercom for Events
Clear-Com’s (www.clearcom.com) FreeSpeak Icon beltpack combines powerful 1.9 GHz (DECT) frequency RF capabilities with an array of user-focused innovations, including nine configurable buttons, four individual channel volume controls, and support for the latest Bluetooth 5.3 technology. The beltpack’s nine configurable buttons, including eight dedicated channel buttons and a reply key, provide extensive communication options, rivaling the functionality of a traditional intercom panel. Four dedicated channel volume controls and a main volume control allow users to fine-tune audio levels for each channel. With Bluetooth 5.3 compatibility, users can connect the beltpack to modern wireless headsets and earbuds. Optimized for compatibility with Clear-Com’s Arcadia Central Station and Eclipse HX digital matrix, the FreeSpeak Icon beltpack integrates with existing systems. The FreeSpeak Icon beltpack harnesses advanced networking capabilities, including Dante and MADI for Eclipse users. Its shorter height and high-brightness color display provide a comfortable fit, intuitive operation and at-a-glance access to vital call information.
Listen Technologies and Ampetronic’s (https://av.ampetronic.com) Auri lets venues and end users adopt Auracast broadcast audio technology, a new standard for Bluetooth Low Energy Audio, for assistive listening in public spaces. Auri delivers high-quality, low-latency, multi-channel audio to an unlimited number of dedicated receivers and newly emerging Auracast compatible consumer devices. Auri supports multiple audio channels to cater to diverse audio requirements within a single venue, offering flexibility in sound management. Auri broadcasts audio over 100 meters, with the option to add multiple transmitters for expanded coverage or additional channels, making it ideal for any size venue. Auri, powered by Ampetronic and Listen Technologies, features network installed transmitters, dedicated receivers, docking stations, Auri Manager software, and a complete line of accessories, including headphones, neck loops and signage.
Riedel Communications’ (www.riedel.net) StageLink Edge Devices are designed for broadcast, live production, and studio environments. The StageLink lineup of compact, rugged I/O boxes utilize standard network cables instead of specialized infrastructure to create a decentralized, scalable system designed to integrate microphones, intercom, GPIO devices, and other audio-enabled equipment with unprecedented ease. There are six purpose-built devices. The NSA-003A (Dual Partyline) enables seamless integration of third-party legacy 2-wire intercom systems into Riedel’s Artist and Bolero ecosystems. The NSA-004A (Quad In) and NSA-005A (Quad Out) offer four universal input and output ports, supporting analog and digital audio connections. The NSA-006A (Workplace) features mic preamps, headphone outputs, and stereo speaker connectivity. The NSA-007A (Dual In/Out) is a broadcast-grade 2-in/2-out I/O box that also functions as a classic analog or digital 4-wire device for Artist and Bolero intercom systems. Finally, the NSA-010C (GPIO) is a network-based GPIO interface that operates in either integrated Artist/Bolero mode or standalone mode, enabling seamless third-party connections via NMOS IS-07.
Wireless Microphone Technology
DPA Microphones (www.dpamicrophones.com) N-Series delivers DPA’s sound quality in a robust easy-to-operate format that is well-suited for live, house of worship and corporate events as well as installed systems applications. Additionally, the N-Series dedicated wideband capabilities and extreme flexibility make it ideal for event rental companies. Users can quickly find audio channels in even the most densely RF populated areas and arenas, anywhere in the world. Operating in the 470–870 MHz range, each unit provides users 400 MHz of flexibility. This endures users a more secure investment, because a single N-Series unit can be used in multiple locations, andit addresses the frequency shuffles that regularly take place around the globe. Complementing the N-Series is the new DPA Audio Controller, software solution allowing system remote control and monitoring via either PC or Mac. DPA Audio Controller also features a comprehensive frequency analyzer that covers the systems entire 470 to 870 MHz bandwidth. Along with DPA’s new 2024 Vocal microphone, the N-series can be used with a wide variety of industry microphones including several DPA models.
Sennheiser’s (www.sennheiser.com) staff invited booth visitors to explore the Spectera ecosystem. The company demonstrated its wireless multichannel audio systems showing how their bidirectional wideband technology promises to enhance audio quality and reliability in complex environments. Attendees also had the chance to see Sennheiser’s other latest innovations in action.
