Venue Details
The Clayton House movie theater, which showed films to its 2,000-capacity audiences from 1916 to 1959, was situated on a site of the Indian Queen Hotel, first built in Wilmington, DE in 1789. Disused for decades, it was rescued from demolition, refurbished and reopened as a performing arts venue named The Queen Theater in April 2011. The 45,000 square-foot theater, which could not host audiences during the Covid-19 pandemic, instead served as a studio for the Biden-Harris campaign and post-election transition in 2020 and early 2021.
