Diablo Sound Names Sean Kozma Rental Manager

LOS ANGELES – Having freelanced for Diablo Sound as a crew lead, designer, and mix engineer for many years, Sean Kozma has taken on the full-time position of Rental Manager.

Kozma hails from Ann Arbor, MI, but moved to Los Angeles in 1998 to pursue a career in sound. He has been working for Diablo Sound in a freelance capacity since before the firm was even incorporated.

“To some extent, I’ve been involved in theatre and collaborative art since I was a kid,” Kozma states. “I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my dream of making a living in the collaborative arts, and joining the Diablo team full-time is really the culmination of the last fifteen years of my life.”

Before his time at Diablo Sound, Kozma worked as an audio technician and in other crew positions for a number of Los Angeles area theatres including The Colony Theatre, The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts, The Pasadena Playhouse, and South Coast Rep. He also worked as a sound designer on numerous projects including Four Hands, Two Pianos at The Colony Theatre, Three Sisters After Chekhov with the Lower Depth Ensemble, The Arsonists at The Odyssey Theatre (which was nominated for Sound Design with the Los

Angeles Drama Critics Circle), The Birdhouse and Walking on Turtle Island with Native Voices at The Autry.

Working with Diablo Sound, Kozma has been instrumental in the success of several projects and clients including Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights, The Bird Box Experience (two immersive events for the launch of Netflix’s Bird Box), Van Helsing: Fortress Dracula (part of Universal’s Studio Tour), Warner Bros’ Horror Made Here (providing show control for The Exorcist: Forbidden Screening), and CityWalk at Universal Studios.

Kozma received an Associates Degree from City College of San Francisco, is certified on

DANTE Level 1, Q-SYS Levels 1 & 2, and is Alcorn McBride Show Control certified.
