Germany-based pro audio specialist DirectOut is bringing their Dante device to the IBC 2017 exhibition, which will be held Sept 15-19 at the RAI in Amsterdam. With its original product line focused around MADI, DirectOut started to open up towards future connectivity standards as an early adopter of RAVENNA. A second network audio format, Waves Soundgrid, was added to the portfolio in 2016. Now, at IBC 2017, the company will feature the EXBOX.MD, a small yet powerful Dante-to-MADI converter box. RAI attendees are encouraged to visit DirectOut in Hall 8, Booth E.85.

More details from DirectOut (www.directout.eu):

The concept is straight and simple: take any MADI format (coaxial BNC, optical SC or SFP) and convert all 64 channels to Dante and vice-versa. The device can be powered by up to two external power-supplies as well as PoE (Power over Ethernet). Four network ports are connected to an internal switch and give the opportunity to use Dante’s redundancy mode, while more EXBOX.MDs or other Dante devices can be connected directly to increase the number of channels. The handy size of the popular EXBOX series (1/3 of 19’’), combined with the rock-solid housing and redundant power supplies, makes the EXBOX.MD a perfect connectivity tool for touring live shows, OB vans as well as studio applications.
