ANAHEIM, CA – It’s late August. Do you know which regional sound company will benefit from your nomination for the 2018 Hometown Hero Sound Company of the Year? In a matter of days (Thursday, Sept. 7, 5 p.m. West Coast time, to be precise) the window of opportunity to nominate a worthy company (yes, it can be your own) will close.
That’s the bad news. The good news is, you still have the opportunity to nominate a regional sound company for this honor. The really good news is, there’s a better-than-usual chance that a single nomination will result in a company name appearing on the Hometown Hero ballot when it goes live on Sept. 12.
The total number of regional sound companies that will be listed on the Hometown Hero ballot is 36 — six companies from each of six regions in North America (Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest and Canada). In September, FRONT of HOUSE readers will narrow this list of 36 companies down by voting for six regional winners (and North American finalists).
All six names will automatically appear on the Parnelli Awards ballot later this fall. Readers will then get the opportunity to choose the single North American company that will be presented with the 2018 Parnelli Award for Hometown Hero Sound Company of the Year.
The 2018 Parnelli Awards will take place on Friday, Jan. 26 at the Anaheim Hilton during Winter NAMM 2018.
