Amphenol to Debut Dante Digital to Analog Adapters

MELBOURNE, Australia – Amphenol announces the release of the Amphe-Dante range of Dante digital-to-analog audio adapters. Amphe-Dante adapters enable simple connection of analog equipment to a Dante network, receiving audio channels from a Dante network and provide studio-quality, low-latency audio via an XLR connector to analog gear. Any audio available on the Dante network can be routed via the XLR outputs to an amplifier, powered speaker, mixing console, digital signal processor (DSP) or other analog audio device.

The unique cable dongle housing design is said to be a world first for Dante enabled products, allowing integrators to mount the adapter without additional rack or shelf space. Initially it will be offered in a single- or two-channel option with premium XLR connectors and a durable molded housing. XLR adapters (for example XLR-to-RCA and XLR-to-phono) can be used to connect to audio equipment without built-in XLR connectors.

“The new Amphenol adapters allow a huge market of legacy products like amplifiers and loudspeakers to now be Dante-enabled,” said Lee Ellison, CEO of Audinate. “Affordable solutions that allow analog products to connect to a Dante network are an important piece of the audio networking ecosystem, and the Amphe-Dante products do just that.”

“We are excited to be working with Audinate to bring a truly unique product to the audio networking market.” said Stephen Richards, Sales & Marketing Director at Amphenol Australia. “The opportunity to collaborate with another successful Australian company offering world class technology will enable us to be at the forefront of digital audio connectivity”

The Amphe-Dante adapters will be on display at InfoComm in the Amphenol booth #C12012. For further info, visit www.amphenolaudio.com.
