More details from K-array (www.k-array.com):

Luce Della VitaThe club owners wanted a punching sound that would beat through the core of the guests while not conflicting with the restaurant background music. This complicated audio solution was required to blend into the aesthetics and create a more relaxed atmosphere. It was a complicated task to avoid crossover with two extremely different audio requirements but utlising the new Firenze series with digital acoustic steering and it’s various software advantages it was the only speaker that could re-define what we think we know about installed sound.

Audio setup in the Italian Restaurant

Luce Della VitaFor the restaurant a combination of KP52s, KP102s were positioned discreetly within the corners and walls of the room supported by KMT18Ps placed below within the walls. This sound system refined by Managing Director Sennheiser China Marc Vincent was powered with KA24 and KA84 amplifiers. the restaurant system was set high in frequencies to avoid conflicting with the powerful audio coming form the club.

Incredible Bass in the Club

Luce Della VitaFor the club 8 x KH8s were installed around the room with 8 x KS8s positioned below in the walls. This configuration and contrast of speakers did not have any impact between either room which was made possible with the KH8 and KS8 digitally steered focus of sound and artistic architectural design that cushioned the noise from the club.

Luce Della VitaProject Manager Harley Tao explained a K-face moment “The client was concerned that there would not be enough low frequencies and requested more subwoofers until the team turned on the KS8 before opening and the owners were in complete shock, they could not believe the power of the subs. In fact, just a few weeks after opening, the local district asked for the bass to be turned down and after a plea from the owners, we have recently returned to fine tune the low frequencies to keep everyone happy.”

Luce Della VitaFred Hu from Sennheiser China concluded “This has been an incredible experience for the guests and the owners as the sound has been punching enough to serve some serious power to the Shanghai club scene. It’s been thrilling to approach a brief like this with K-array speakers. They are easy to set up and it gives us a greater edge when we want to impress our clients, especially ambitious projects such as these. The owners have been so impressed with the Firenze series, they have requested more for another venue they are opening in the future.”
