FIORANO MODENESE, Italy – Established ceramics maker Florim Ceramiche SpA was looking for visually unobtrusive speaker components that could still deliver optimum sound quality for the 9,000 square meter Florim Gallery. Exhibo designed and installed a system that pairs K-array Kobra KK102 speakers and KMT12 subwoofers in the central portion of the gallery. Elsewhere, Exhibo installed K-array  KZ10 (Lyzard) components.

More details from K-array (www.k-array.com):

Florim Ceramiche SpA has been producing ceramic surfaces for various applications in the construction, interior design and architecture industries for more than 50 years.

There has always been a connection between research and technological innovation and the high professionalism of employees who have distinguished the company from its inception. They have built a strong reputation building and supplying for major installations, industrial organizations, logistics and commercial structures around the world.

“Minimalistic installations such as the Florim Gallery have been possible thanks to the slim, compact and quality of sound from K-array speakers. We always enjoy surprising our clients with how they look and especially, how they sound.”

Similar to K-array, there is innovation and problem solving at the heart of everything they do. To show their innovative spirit and future ambitions the Florim Gallery was built where the main office originally opened in 2012. The Florim Gallery is a multifunctional space of 9,000 square meters purposely created as a versatile space for products and events. An innovative building that is eco friendly, cost effective and energy efficient for the benefit of those who experience it.

Architecturally it is quite “simply” a large box lined with insulated panels used to transform the building into a natural looking design fitting to the environment. it is connected to a large building by a crystal tunnel and upstairs from the main entrance are located four exhibition areas while downstairs there are large areas of versatile space designed to house and welcome visitors. The central area is dominated by a large HD screen and accompanied by K-array Kobra KK102 speakers and subwoofers KMT12 were chosen as a perfect solution to the brief.

The designers of the building wanted white space and free space, K-array speakers are capable of blending into the sharp lines and structures of the build and with a custom white paint job, they were near to invisible. The other reason these speakers were chosen was the excellent performance audio speakers Kobra can return in power and loyalty, especially from the point of view of controlled directivity which allows a very uniform sound area for the public, avoiding the reflections on the walls and crystal surfaces in the room.

In the conference room next door which was furnished with plenary sessions, KK102s were installed. In this environment, the speakers were used for reinforcement especially for the areas the back of the room, the solution was completed with several KZ10s (Lyzard) in the frame of the lighting fixtures.

In both areas the choice of K-array products has been motivated by the excellent location set that allows these speakers to achieve the full potential. The audio system was designed and installed by Exhibo.
