EventSound Adds Soundcraft Consoles to Inventory

SYDNEY – EventSound has added a Soundcraft Si Compact and a Si Performer 2 console to their inventory. “As an ardent Soundcraft fan, I was eagerly looking forward to the release of the Compact and Performer series of digital consoles,” said Managing Director Keith Clarkson. “These were the first digital consoles I knew how to operate without even turning them on, from just their layout. I like to think of them as the digital console for the analog guy.”

Sydney-based EventSound has added a Soundcraft Si Compact and a Si Performer 2 console to their inventory and Managing Director Keith Clarkson reports that they have both been great!

Keith’s first gig out with the Soundcraft Si Compact was for Jennifer Hawkins’ engagement party held at Palm Beach with live performances from Martini Club and guest performer Guy Sebastian.

EventSound is using a Soundcraft Si Compact and Si Performer 2 console for a variety of gigs.“With such an intuitive layout it was easy to set up for FOH and monitor mixes,” he added. “Straight away you feel comfortable with where everything is with only a few hours working experience on the console.”

The Soundcraft Si Performer 2 console was the next step up for the EventSound crew; with additional channel EQ and VCA’s on the console as well as channel LCD displays, it was a much better equipped console to use with higher profile artists.

“This console has been used for intimate shows with Pink, Taylor Swift, Rudimental, Ed Sheeran, FUN, Dizzee Rascal, and Pompeii,” revealed Keith. “I’ve found that most international touring engineers have commented on what a great little board it is. We have set up the Si Performer 2 console with an Optical MADI Card for 64 multitrack outputs direct to a MADI recorder that we frequently use for our live recording work. We have even used the onboard DMX section for control of lighting scenes at some of our corporate conference events.”

Unfortunately there is a serious negative aspect to EventSound adding Soundcraft Si Compact and a Si Performer 2 consoles that has to be addressed.

“Alas, since acquiring our Soundcraft digital consoles we now don’t like to use anything else, so our other audio consoles are getting fat and lazy wallowing in the warehouse!” said Keith.
