Worker Killed in Accident at MGM Grand Identified as Ricky J. Robinson, 59

LAS VEGAS – On Tuesday, June 10, 2014 around 2:30 pm, Ricky J. Robinson, 59, died from injuries sustained after a fall from a third story window at the MGM Grand Conference Center here. Reports indicate that Robinson was not able to get out of the way when a cart used for transporting audio gear was accidentally put into reverse, pushing him out the window.

MGM Resorts vice president of public affairs Gordon Absher released the following statement shortly after the accident.

“A tragic accident occurred this afternoon at the MGM Grand Conference Center. A member of the MGM Grand team died after an accident that resulted in a fall from the third floor of the Conference Center building. The identity of the employee involved is being withheld pending notification of family. Circumstances of the incident are being investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. MGM Grand is cooperating fully with authorities. OSHA has been notified. This is a difficult time and a devastating loss for our entire MGM team. The thoughts of our entire MGM team are with the family at this difficult time.”
