When Capital was approached by regular clients Universal and Soho House to put together a system for the Universal Music BRIT Awards Party hosted by Bacardi and Soho House, they knew it was going to be a night to remember.

The crew opted for an ‘in the round’ system for two DJ rigs comprised of 28 Meyer Sound Mina cabinets and eight 600-HP subs. “The event took place at the Old Midland Bank, immediately opposite the Bank of England in the City of London,” says crew chief Charles Ellery. “We’d visited the palatial marble clad surroundings a couple of weeks before, and decided to put together an ‘in the round’ system of 28 Meyer Mina cabinets and eight 600-HP subs to relay material from two full DJ rigs, which were set up on what used to be the Bank’s reception desk.”

Capital’s Robin Conway was on system tech and mixing duties, whilst Louisa Gladwin, Charlie Bryson and Jasmin Cummings handled the PA and stage tech roles.

Control was via a DiGiCo SD11 digital console, with a pair of Meyer Sound Galileos handling the outputs to the entrance corridor system and the other end of the building at the VIP section, which comprised Martin Audio W2s with WS218X subs.

Stephen Bunting worked the room two system of Meyer 600-HPs and UPQs for an Iggy Azalea showcase for Universal management.

“The BRIT Awards is always a spectacular event,” says Charles. “The Awards parties follow that lead and this was no exception. Everyone had a great time and both Universal and Soho House were really pleased with what we supplied.”
