INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana State Fair Commission held a memorial June 14 for the seven people killed by the staging collapse on Aug. 13, 2011. They also unveiled a plaque near the entrance to the fair’s grandstand listing the names of the victims.
The commission also noted that they had developed a comprehensive 425-page emergency plan covering everything from bad weather to crowd control and food poisoning, and has put new training procedures into effect for its 60 staffers and 1,200 who work at the fair.
