TELLURIDE, CO – The Galaxy Theater, a 500-seat venue used by the Telluride Film Festival from Sept. 2-5, is a gymnasium converted with acoustical treatments overlaid with black drapery and works of art. To meet the demands of its discriminating audience, the organizers opted for a Meyer Sound EXP cinema sound system.
"We entertain a high calibre of filmmakers and attendees at Telluride Film Festival, who all expect the very best from us," said Julie Huntsinger, co-director of the festival. "Because of the unique opportunity we have to work with Meyer Sound and their equipment for the Galaxy, we are able to meet and exceed those expectations and ensure the best possible experience for our guests."
The Meyer system included Acheron screen channel loudspeakers, Acheron LF low-frequency loudspeakers, HMS-10 surround loudspeakers, a custom Meyer subwoofer configuration using 700-HPs and a Galileo loudspeaker management system. SIM 3audio analyzer was used to optimize the system.
The Galaxy Theater was also equipped with a Barco digital cinema processor, Century JJ projectors for film, a Dolby CP650 cinema processor and Strong MDI projection screen.
