More details from Shure (www.shure.com):

The pro audio and M.I. industry was stunned and saddened to hear of the unexpected passing of longtime Shure executive Mark Brunner on Oct. 1. He was 55.

Born in June 1965 in Chicago, Brunner attained an MBA degree from Northwestern University’s prestigious Kellogg Graduate School of Business Management and began his three-decades-plus career at Shure in 1989. He held several key positions, including director of advertising, managing director of the Musical Instrument and Touring Sound Business unit, and senior director of global brand management. Over the years, he was instrumental in helping Shure build an even stronger reputation among associates, customers, industry influencers and the public.

Brunner was a former president of PAMA (the Professional Audio Manufacturers Alliance), and since 2005 tirelessly worked on essential issues involving frequency spectrum allocation, often appearing in Washington D.C., to make sure the critical needs of professional wireless mic users and manufacturers were made known to members of Congress, the FCC and international regulators.

“Mark was more than our VP of global corporate & government relations; he was family to so many of us at Shure and in the industry,” said Shure president/CEO Christine Schyvinck. “Mark touched the lives of everyone he worked with. Mark was a trusted advisor, a mentor, and most importantly, a friend. Our thoughts are with Mark’s family at this difficult time.”

Mark Brunner was loved by his many friends, colleagues and associates throughout the industry and additional information about Shure’s celebration of Brunner’s life will be shared shortly. In the meantime, cards or letters for the family can be sent to the following address:
