MONTABAUR, Germany — Meyer Sound named Jan Frederick Christoph Meyer, a.k.a. "Freddy," to its European technical support team. "I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to participate in many different productions with Meyer Sound's versatile and reliable gear,” Meyer said. “This experience will allow me to support Meyer Sound customers and provide the level of service the company is known for."

COSTA MESA, CA—Bob Lee, pictured here, a 15-year veteran with QSC, the last nine of which he spent in the Tech Services Group, has become secretary for the Audio Engineering Society (AES). Lee officially took charge of the post shortly after the 125th AES Convention held in San Francisco. QSC also announced that Perry Celia has been named the company’s director of U.S. sales, Western region.

SALT LAKE CITY — The Harman Music Group named Jay Woolley marketing director for portable sound.  In this role he will oversee all marketing, promotional, and new product launch efforts for dbx and BSS products sold in the portable sound channel.

WEDEMARK, GERMANY — Audio specialist Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG has announced the opening of its new Global Relations Division, which will support Sennheiser’s wired and wireless products, along with Georg Neumann and Klein + Hummel products. The Global Relations team will harmonize support across borders so that Sennheiser users can count on the same standards and level of support no matter where they are in the world.

CHICAGO — Sensaphonics Hearing Conservation Inc., a manufacturer of custom-fit earphones for personal monitoring, has announced the hiring of industry veteran Thom Fiegle as Sound Engineering Consultant. Fiegle’s primary responsibility will be to offer expert advice to artists and engineers seeking to optimize their personal monitor experience. The new service, dubbed “Ask The Sound Guy,” is designed to augment Sensaphonics’ audiology expertise with Fiegle’s long experience in system design and live sound mixing. 

OLD LYME, CT — Sennheiser Electronic Corporation has promoted Thom Salisbury to western regional sales manager, professional products. 

WHITINSVILLE, MA — EAW has appointed professional audio industry veteran Scott Pizzo to the position of Director of U.S. Sales. The appointment was announced by Jeffrey Cox, Vice President of the EAW Brand Group.

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA — Symetrix Inc. has appointed Tim Murray to the position of western regional sales manager. Symetrix created the position in response to increased sales volume. Murray is based in southern California and will report directly to Symetrix Director of Sales, Paul Roberts.

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, WA — Symetrix Inc. has appointed Dallas Dougherty to the newly created position of product and training specialist/field engineer. Dougherty will spend most of his time traveling to help existing and potential customers understand the applications for Symetrix technology, listen to their needs and identify solutions. While he will work with all of the Symetrix brands, his main focus will be training and support for SymNet.
