  • Las Vegas Production Community Mourns Loss of Roddy Pahl

Roddy is known to countless acts and production pros for his work as the regular audio engineer at the Fremont St. Experience, and just over a year ago he took the reigns as head of audio at the MGM Grand where he oversaw audio on large events including the ACM Awards and many large corporate gigs including the recent Keep Memory Alive Power of Love charity benefit featuring Michael Buble—the first show in the MGM’s new convention and conference venue. That’s exactly what Alex Moran of Spider Ranch Productions of Calif., had to accomplish when he was asked to provide the sound for the Jeep King of the Mountain World Pro Ski and Snowboard Championships.  Alex provided a full complement of McCauley loudspeakers including MONARC MLA3’s, MS3’s, SM72’s and McCauley Sound’s new M88 subwoofer for what’s been referred to as “the loudest show on snow.”

    DALY CITY, CA — Since opening in 1929, the Fox Theatre in Redwood City, Calif., has enjoyed a long and storied history as a vaudeville stage and movie theater. These days, the landmark 1,400-seat venue and smaller Little Fox nightclub next door play host to a busy schedule of national and regional acts. For years, both venues relied primarily on rental gear or the theater’s aging analog console to handle live shows. Recently, the Fox Theatre underwent an audio makeover to keep pace with a growing demand of artists and events throughout the season, and installed DigidesignVENUE live sound systems into both venues.

    DAVIS, CA – Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts at the University of California Davis campus is the premiere performance venue in Northern California. Named after the family that founded the famous Robert Mondavi Winery in the Napa Valley, the Center hosts more than 100 performances annually, including world-renowned philharmonic orchestras, rock concerts, lectures and dance performances, as well as various programs presented by UC Davis.
