Parnelli 2011 Awards Ballot Finalized, Voting Begins!

The ballot also includes the regional winners of the Hometown Hero competition, each of whom are automatic nominees for national honors as Hometown Hero Sound Company of the Year. McKINNEY, TX – The McKinney Performing Arts Center (MPAC), originally built in 1876 in the town's historic courthouse, has been equipped with a Tannoy VRAS in its 427-seat theatre. PMK Consultants designed the system and the Whitlock Group handled its installation.

TELLURIDE, CO – The Galaxy Theater, a 500-seat venue used by the Telluride Film Festival from Sept. 2-5, is a gymnasium converted with acoustical treatments overlaid with black drapery and works of art. To meet the demands of its discriminating audience, the organizers opted for a Meyer Sound EXP cinema sound system.

LOS ANGELES – The nine-hour L.A Rising festival drew more than 60,000 to the Los Angeles Coliseum for a rare appearance by a reunited Rage Against the Machine performing along with Muse, Rise Against, Lauryn Hill, Immortal Technique and El Gran Silencio. The concert was widely noted for the intensity of the performances, delivered via more than 250 Harman JBL VerTec line array loudspeakers and 152 Crown Audio I-Tech HD Series power amplifiers.

HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA – Providing sound reinforcement for the U.S. Open of Surfing always faces the challenge of Mother Nature supplying a healthy dose of water. The event's A1 mixer/sound designer, Gary Vahling, opted for Lectrosonics' waterproof technology to solve the problem.
