EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — Radio Active Designs will host a daily “Radio Spectrum Update & RF Best Practices” conversation at 11 am, Booth #6161 during InfoComm. “As the TV repack and T-Mobile activation begins to wrap up, wireless microphone and intercom operators across the country are finding it particularly challenging to get their jobs done,” explains James Stoffo, CTO Radio Active Designs. “The radio spectrum shuffle affects all aspects of American culture including live broadcasts, sporting events, houses of worship services and arts and entertainment productions.”

As one of the leaders in wireless technology, Stoffo will present a radio spectrum update along with RF best practices and offer problem-solving advice to attendees. Stoffo will be presenting an hour-long seminar offered by InfoComm at 8:00 AM Thursday morning. The full hour will cover wireless microphone use as well as a spectrum update and best practices.

Radio Active Designs manufacturers the UV-1G wireless analog intercom. With bodypacks that operate in VHF and a receiver that utilizes a mere sliver of UHF, the analog UV-1G provides the reliability and ease-of-use wireless operators demand. The analog system, which can be coordinated and licensed, is a necessity for events with many independent users. In addition, multiple systems can be in use in the same area at the same time with no problems. Lastly, one pair of antennas provide support to an unlimited number of belt packs, making set-up a breeze.  “We also made sure to design the beltpacks with a rebroadcast side tone to ensure that everyone on the system hears your voice – vital for life safety,” Stoffo adds. “We knew the 600 MHz auction and resulting TV repack was going to prove challenging to wireless operators across the country. Our goal was to provide an intercom system with the same reliability and ease-of-use professionals were accustomed to in a package that would operate outside of the UHF spectrum. The UV-1G is a true problem solver in these challenging times.”

In addition to being CTO of Radio Active Designs, Stoffo is a leading RF technician and frequency coordinator on large-scale special events and installations including fourteen consecutive Super Bowls, numerous Latin and English Grammy Awards, every Latin and English Billboard Music Awards since 2000, Video Music Awards, Soul Train Awards and Country Music Awards. He designed the wireless audio systems for Microsoft Studios, most of the Cirque Du Soliel shows in the US, the NBC Sports Facility in Stamford, CT, large Theme Parks and Attractions and the QVC shopping Network, a 250,000 square-foot facility with multiple studios on one combined antenna system.
