L-Acoustics Variable Curvature Line Source and Loudspeaker System Calibration trainings are now AVIXA CTS-certified

ORLANDO, FL – L-Acoustics, which is gearing up to present and demo its products at InfoComm booth 6867 and demo room W221DE, also announced that it has expanded its AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) Renewal Unit (RU) Provider status to include two new training modules.

More details from L-Acoustics (www.l-acoustics.com):

Following the announcement at Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) that Soundvision Basics training (1.5 RU) and LA Drive System Training (2 RU) were the first L-Acoustics education program offerings to receive certification, L-Acoustics continues to partner with AVIXA to offer quality continuing education to AVIXA professionals around the world.

Engineers participating in the L-Acoustics Variable Curvature Line Source (3.5 RU) or Loudspeaker System Calibration (3.5 RU) training modules, either at an L-Acoustics location or via L-Acoustics Certified Providers throughout the world, will now also be able to receive CTS Renewal Units.

“Across the globe, our L-Acoustics training programs are on track to deliver over 6,000 certifications in 2019,” explained Etienne Corteel, Director of Scientific Outreach at L-Acoustics. “Expanding the AVIXA CTS offering to two of our strategic trainings is a mark of quality for the engineers who look to L-Acoustics to provide not only the highest standard in equipment, but also the highest standard in education for the professionals who design, implement and calibrate our systems around the globe.”

Variable Curvature Line Source training teaches systems engineers and designers how to optimize a line source for coverage, SPL and frequency response. It highlights important design parameters for the physical deployment and the electronic settings of a variable curvature line source. This course offers an overview of rational design methodology using Soundvision modeling and simulation software, including an introduction to the new Autosolver tools.

The newly introduced Loudspeaker System Calibration training teaches system engineers how to calibrate a loudspeaker system in a touring, rental or fixed installation project. The course covers both verification and tuning of the system. Acoustic measurements and silent tuning are covered. This module also offers an overview of the new M1 measurement tools in LA Network Manager 3.0. Loudspeaker Calibration training is currently in pilot phase and will be available widely in October.

“Continuing education is important for professional growth in the AV industry,” said Amanda Beckner, CTS, Vice President of Learning, AVIXA. “We are pleased that companies such as L-Acoustics have invested in ongoing training and made their courses available to CTS holders through the RU program.”

L-Acoustics will also be presenting two education sessions at InfoComm 2019. On Wednesday June 12th from 9-10 am in room W414C, L-Acoustics Sports Facilities experts Dan Palmer and Gino Pellicano will host the Players & Perspectives in Sports Venues Sound System Integration (1.5 RU) panel. On Thursday, June 13th from 9:30-10:30 am in room W307CD, L-Acoustics Product Manager Scott Sugden will present at the Deploying Immersive Hyperreal Sound session (1 RU).
