Earthworks Chosen for Temple Israel Upgrade

OMAHA – Temple Israel, a Reform Jewish congregation in Omaha, NE, had specific qualifications for upgrading their sound system. They had a 30-voice choir to accommodate, and needed flexible podium mics to work with younger, soft-spoken members during bar mitzvahs. They turned to Electronic Contracting Company and Diversified Design Group, both of Lincoln, NE, for their Earthworks Audio solution.

HIGHLANDS RANCH, CO - Cherry Hills Community Church recently turned to Mankin Media Systems to solve its audio issues. In addition to providing consistent sound quality and volume in all parts of the room, the new system would have to be rider-friendly and concert-ready for the touring artists who perform on occasion. The church is now enjoying a new house loudspeaker system based on L-Acoustics Kara elements.

LOS ANGELES —Roland noted that its M-5000 OHRCA console was chosen for the FOH and monitor mixers for such acts as Vocalosity, Saint Motel and Sabrina Carpenter on tour. The company provided a case study on how the digital desks are being used by FOH/MON engineers including, respectively, Tony Huerta, Teresa Murray/Arend Vanderkam, and Karan “Kenny” Narayan/Nathan Langford. Powersoft Provides the Pulse for Tucson Student Hangout

TUCSON, AZ - Student hangout No Anchovies grew in popularity with the University of Arizona students, prompting the owner to renovate and expand its original 2,000 sq. ft. up to 10,000 sq. ft. The new space brought about a need for a more powerful sound system. Jon Qualls of Arizona Communications Experts designed a system that featured Powersoft X-series amplifiers.

DiGiCo Consoles Control Twenty One Pilots' Tour

COLUMBUS, OH -- VER Tour Sound is providing Twenty One Pilots with DiGiCo SD5 and SD10 consoles on the road for FOH and monitors, plus an SD9 for opening acts. On their previous tour, the crew carried a console from another manufacturer, but as the band’s popularity mushroomed, it was time to go to the next level. Says FOH Engineer Shane Bardlau, “Although I certainly had good shows on the other desks... I've always heard good things about DiGiCo, so I decided to roll with one, and there are many things I like about the SD5."

KNOXVILLE, TN - Phil Peters, Christian Broadcast Network’s director of audio services and FOH mixer, chooses Waves eMotion LV1 consoles for his work with the network. As CBN is donor-based, meetings are frequently held both on-site and at locations central to donors outside of the network’s home state of Virginia. On campus there are several event spaces: a 1000-seat chapel, an 850-seat ballroom, and an 800-seat theater space. The audio group is tasked with providing support services at all these locations.

HOUSTON - Lady Gaga counted on Sennheier microphones for her high-profile performance during the recent Super Bowl Halftime Show. She also worked with Sennheiser to design customized designs for each of the three microphones to offer camera eye-candy and also send a message. Lady Gaga’s FOH engineer Paul Ramsay has used the MD 5235 capsule extensively on her tours, and was confident it would give him what he needed for both the in-stadium and broadcast mixes.

PORTLAND, OR – Audinate announces the immediate availability of Level 2 Dante Certification online. The Level 2 Certification course is an intermediate to advanced level course that prepares AV personnel to design larger Dante network systems, and provides training on audio networking concepts such as clocking, unicast and multicast, latency and redundancy. This course contains 10 instructional videos, a knowledge test and the simulated skills test.
