HANOI, Vietnam — Vietnamese PA company Fantasies Show & Light selected Allen & Heath’s iLive digital mixing system for a recent tour visiting 10 cities in Vietnam called Rock Storm. Masaaki Azuma, the tour’s show sound director, has also handled sound control for Madonna, Oasis, Under World, Metallica, and Fuji Rock Festival.

WASHINGTON, DC — An orator’s message is ultimately only as effective as the audio gear conveying it, and for 18 minutes, the live sound industry helped Barack Obama deliver an inaugural address to listening audience of truly epic proportions, with well over a million gathered at the National Mall. “To the best of my knowledge, this was the largest amplified event in human history,” said Robert Goldstein, president of Maryland Sound International (MSI), which handled the audio, with Clair Global providing delay speakers. Shure Raid in China Finds Counterfeit Earphones

SHENZHEN, China — Shure Inc. said it had worked closely with Chinese authorities on its bust last month of a wholesale supply of more than 8,500 counterfeit earphones. An investigation initiated by Shure led to a raid by the Shenzhen Administration for Industry and Commerce (AIC) on a wholesale shop, Sanze Electronics, and another at an associated warehouse. NINGBO, China — Soundking Group Co. Ltd. announced that it had acquired the assets, trademark and intellectual property of Cadac Electronics plc, effective immediately. Bob Thomas has been appointed as general manager of the new operating company, Cadac Holdings Ltd.
